Christine NguyenHello! I'm Christine and I'm a 4th year biomedical engineering major. I'm currently an R&D intern at Microvention Terumo and have had internships in Regulatory and Production. I am also involved in HERO Lab. After graduating, I plan to attend graduate school to get an MS in biomedical engineering or bioinformatics. In my free time, I love playing basketball, going in spontaneous adventures (to Joe's Italian Ice) with my friends, and shopping! Internship: Northrop Grumman Hello! My name is Ally, I am a fourth year computer science and engineering major. I started my time at UCI as a BME and switched majors so I've had a pretty interesting academic journey. I interned at Northrop Grumman this past summer as an electrical test engineer in Redondo Beach, CA working on satellites. In the future I would love to work in consumer products doing software engineering work! Outside of school I enjoy playing soccer, trivia, watching sports (warriors, niners, liverpool, little bit of f1), and karaoke :) I am super excited to be involved in BMES board again and look forward making this year as great as possible!

Lyna LuuHi everyone! I’m Lyna, a third-year biomedical engineering: premed major. I am currently an undergraduate researcher in King Lab, which focuses on medical devices in women’s health. I am also in BEAT Lab working with cardiac MRIs and computational modeling. I interned at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County this past summer where I shadowed various specialities in healthcare. I plan on pursuing a neurology specialty after medical school. I love playing games, exploring new places, and trying out new foods. I look forward to meeting everyone :)

Christopher TanNice to meet you! My name is Christopher Tan and I’m a second year biomedical engineering: premed major. I’m an undergraduate researcher in the Beier Lab (neurophysiology) and King Lab (addressing postpartum hemorrhaging). I’m involved in a lot of different things on campus such as student advocacy in ASUCI and community service in CHSC. My career goal is to become an anesthesiologist. Outside of school, I enjoy 3d printing (I got a new bambulab P1S), rock climbing, and photography. I am stoked for the upcoming year of BMES and I love meeting new people so come say hi if you see me at a meeting!

Lucas JonesI'm Lucas, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this amazing community! I'm a passionate second-year BME major, and I'm all about making a real impact in the world of healthcare. So, I love working on super cool research projects here at UCI – like a cutting-edge vaginal speculum in Dr. King's lab and a multi-analyte sensor in the BEAMS lab. Outside of BME, I'm also a sports enthusiast who loves playing soccer, basketball, and golf. In my free time, you'll find me hitting the beach or hanging out with friends. I can't wait to connect with all of you at our upcoming events (we have many). Rohan KunduruHi everyone! My name is Rohan Kunduru and I am a third-year Biomedical Engineering major with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, returning to BMES board as a Project Coordinator once again. This past summer, I was a Quality Engineering Intern at MicroVention and am currently in Dr. King's research lab as a part of Feminora. I am extremely passionate about innovating in the medical device/sports medicine industry and am striving towards becoming an entrepreneur in my career. I love to play basketball and watch NBA games and am always looking forward to a new experience or adventure! I can't wait for what this year holds and to meet everyone joining BMES! Akhil ChandekarHi everyone! I'm Akhil, a third-year Biomedical Engineering Premedical major. Currently, I'm involved in research at both the UCI Medical Center Emergency Department and the Hirshberg Lab at the Beckman Laser Institute. I also work as an EMT for LIFEwest ambulance! After undergrad, I aspire to go to medical school and pursue a career in sports medicine. When I'm not studying or working, you'll find me shooting hoops or coaching soccer! Lab: Milner Lab Hi! I’m Joshua Varela, a second year BME student! Currently, I’m researching in Dr. Milner’s lab which is currently focusing on photo acoustic and ultrasound imaging and processing. After undergrad, I hope to be able to go into the biomedical device industry. Outside of work, I like working out and hanging out with friends! Neha MuvvalaHey! My name is Neha, and I am a third year BMEP student. I am currently in Dr. King's Novel Suture Lab creating a technique to heal postpartum hemorrhaging. Additionally, I am in the BEAT lab working on quantifying the sizes of cardiomyocytes after left bundle branch block. I'm also a medical center volunteer. In the future, I plan on attending medical school to pursue a career in cardiology. Outside of school, I love watching action movies (aka Marvel) and trying new foods. I have made so many fun memories with BMES, and I am grateful to continue being a part of such an amazing club. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Varu VummidiHey! My name is Varu, and I'm a third year Biomedical Engineering Premedical major. I'm an undergraduate researcher in Dr. King's Suture Lab, where we're developing a solution to postpartum hemorrhaging. I volunteer and shadow at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, and I'm currently working on my EMT certification! Outside of school, I like to play Skyrim, listen to music, and hang out with my cat Circe. She also watches Game of Thrones with me. Lab: BiNoM Lab Hello, I'm Dean, a second year biomedical engineering premed major! I am in the BiNoM lab working as an undergraduate researcher on centrifugal microfluidic devices. In the past year, I've made CAD prototypes for such devices and presented its use in point of care diagnosis at the UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium. I'm an enjoyer of anything Star Wars, eating new foods, gaming, and intriguing things. Looking forward to what BMES has in store this year!

Anushka ChauhanHi! I'm Anushka and I am a third year BME major! I am currently a quality and systems engineer in Dr. King's Feminora lab. This past summer I interned at Carbon Technology Inc. as a software developer. My hobbies include kathak, sudoku, and most importantly, spending a lot of time cuddling with my cute dog Nikki. I also really enjoy going on beach runs, beach swims, and beach picnics. I am super excited for this year and am looking forward to meeting everyone!

Bri MenesesHi everyone! I’m Bri and I’m a fourth year biomedical engineering transfer student. Joining BMES has easily been one of the best decisions I made this past year and is an amazing club to join if you’re looking to meet new people/make connections especially if you’re brand new to UCI! After graduating, I plan on going into the medical device industry and eventually returning to school to get a master’s in mechanical engineering. Outside of UCI, I enjoy going to the gym, being outdoors, going to concerts, and trying out new restaurants. I’m so excited for this upcoming year and cannot wait to meet all of you guys!

Dave SolivenHello! I'm Dave, a 3rd-year biomedical engineering major. I am a member of the Biotherapeutics lab working with nanoparticles and currently an intern at Matregenix working with nanofibers. Working towards a fulfilling and, hopefully, lucrative career in biotechnology, I adhere to a personal philosophy of "do what you want, get good doing it, and do some good with it." If not anything else, I like d&d, movies, comedy, and reading. I’m so excited to serve on the board and I hope I can provide you with my best! Lab: Khine Lab Hello! My name is Dathan and I'm a second year biomedical engineering major with aspiration of becoming a physician. I am currently a research assistant in the Khine lab working on and learning about point-of-care diagnostics. Aside from school, I'm a tech enthusiast: everything from building gaming PCs to home networking to Hi-Fi audio setups. I also enjoy playing sports, talking cars, cooking inexpensive meals, and learning all about personal finance. As this year's publicity chair, I'm eager to contribute and connect with all of you. Kayleigh SimHello! I’m Kayleigh, and I’m a second year BME major (fun fact I used to be BMEP) planning to go into biotech or genetic engineering. This past summer, I interned at a biotech startup researching drug delivery for RNA therapeutics as well as DNA and protein quantification assay techniques, and I’m hoping to join a research lab studying genetic engineering this academic year. Outside of academics, I love cooking, going to the gym, watching c dramas, and jewelry making. I am so excited to meet all of you, and I’m looking forward to an incredible year for BMES! Anjella ManucatHeyy! I am Anjella, and I’m a fourth-year biomedical engineering major. My main passion is I enjoy helping the community in any way I can! I was a peer ambassador for the UCI Womxn’s Center for Success and a peer advisor for the UCI Veterans Services Center. I plan to work in the industry for a few years and attend graduate school for a master's in engineering. I love playing games, doing arts and crafts, volunteering, and hanging out with friends! I am so excited to start this new year and to meet all of you through our fun events! :D

Annie TangHi everyone!! My name is Annie, and I'm a third-year BME major. I'm currently a member of Dr. Tang's optogenetics lab where I'm using software to analyze hippocampal spiking patterns. I've also interned at Alcon Laboratories this past summer as a manufacturing engineer! In my free time I like to play the piano, try new cafes, and collect houseplants. So grateful to be a part of BMES, and looking forward seeing everyone in the fall!! :)
